For some children, a lack of automaticity in number can be a barrier to future success in mathematics. This online session for Teaching Assistants will explore the essential concepts that children should have in order to build on their learning. We will look at ideas, activities and strategies to support children to build automaticity

The training is suitable for Teaching Assistants who are classroom-based or deliver intervention in small groups.

Having a recall of times tables is the bedrock to many areas of mathematics. This online session explores the development of times tables skills and offers many ideas and activities for developing this area of mathematics.

The training is suitable for subject leads of mathematics looking to develop a whole Key Stage approach as well as teachers and teaching assistants in Y3-6 looking to strengthen this area of their practice.

During this online session, we will explore how oracy relates to mathematics.  The training will consider how to encourage oracy in the classroom, promoting talk-rich classrooms which supports deeper understanding and helps learners to grow in confidence.

Focusing on inclusion in primary mathematics involves actively removing barriers to learning for all learners. In this online session, we will explore inclusive teaching strategies so that every child feels valued and capable of participating.
