This online session is designed to develop a greater awareness of the development of children’s mathematical reasoning.  We will also explore the importance of effective questioning in developing these skills since the quality and variety of language that learners hear and speak are key factors in developing their mathematical vocabulary and presenting a mathematical justification, argument or proof.

During this online session, we will explore how oracy relates to mathematics.  The training will consider how to encourage oracy in the classroom, promoting talk-rich classrooms which supports deeper understanding and helps learners to grow in confidence.
