Getting KS2 Arithmetic to Stick
This 60 minute session explores what it means to be mathematically fluent and considers the key skills needed to be successful at arithmetic in relation to the end of KS2 SATs.
We discuss good and bad decisions that pupils make when calculating and how these can be used in the classroom situation to develop pupils’ fluency.
This is an interactive session with plenty of mathematical opportunities to explore activities for strengthening arithmetic skills.
The session is suitable for KS2 teachers, teaching assistants, subject leaders and others looking to strengthen their understanding of the end of KS2 arithmetic test.
